1) Install both TDM and FQM Deluxe to your SE4 folder, as normal. If you installed SE4 into the default installation folder, it should be in:
C:\Program Files\Malfador Machinations\Space Empire IV Gold\
2) Create a new mod folder under the SE4 folder. Name it something like "TDM + FQM Deluxe".
3) Copy everything from the TDM folder into the "TDM + FQM Deluxe" folder. Make sure to keep all of the same folder structure intact.
4) Browse to the FQM Deluxe folder. Go into the Data folder under this folder. Copy the following files:
DefaultStrategies.txt
Formations.txt
PlanetSize.txt
SectType.txt
Settings.txt
StellarAbilityTypes.txt
SystemNames.txt
SystemTypes.txt
QuadrantTypes.txt
5) Browse to the "TDM + FQM Deluxe" folder. Go into the Data folder under this folder.
6) Paste the files previously copied in step 4 into the Data folder. Make sure to select "overwrite files".
7) Browse to the FQM Deluxe folder. Go into the Pictures folder, and then into the Systems folder.
8) You will need to copy some images into the default game's Pictures\Systems folder. Select all of the images (bitmaps) and copy them.
9) Browse to the default SE4 folder, then go into the Pictures folder. Then, go into the Systems folder. Paste the previously copied images into this folder.
10) Go back to the FQM Deluxe Pictures\System folder. You will see two subfolders, named 800x600 and 1024x768. You will need to copy all of the "nebulae#" images from 800x600 to the same folder in the default SE4 folder, and then do the same with the 1024x768 folders.
11) Go to the FQM Deluxe\Pictures\Systems\800x600 folder, select all of the images (bitmaps) and copy them.
12) Browse to the default SE4 folder, then go into the Pictures\Systems\800x600 folder. Paste the previously copied images into this folder.
11) Go to the FQM Deluxe\Pictures\Systems\1024x768 folder, select all of the images (bitmaps) and copy them.
12) Browse to the default SE4 folder, then go into the Pictures\Systems\1024x768 folder. Paste the previously copied images into this folder.
13) You can optionally copy the following files from FQM Deluxe to the "TDM + FQM Deluxe" data folder. They are not necessary for the mod to function, but they do add some nice eye candy. Copy them over in the same manner as steps 4-6. The files are:
DefaultColonyTypes.txt
DefaultDesignTypes.txt
Demeanors.txt
EmperorNames.txt
EmperorTitles.txt
EmpireNames.txt
EmpireTypes.txt
